Webinar: Creativity and Aging Forum Export to iCal/Outlook Print
Wednesday, May 27 2009, 2:00pm - 3:00pm by Anonymous

Society for the Arts in Healthcare’s Renewal Webinar Series:

Creativity and Aging Forum

Led by: Gay Hanna, PhD, National Center for Creative Aging; Amir Parsa and Laurel Humble, The Museum of Modern Art
Date: 5/27/2009
Time: 2:00 PM ET - 3:00 PM ET
co-sponsored with The Museum of Modern Art

Research suggests that active participation in the arts and learning promotes physical health and enhances a sense of well being among older adults; improves quality of life for those who are ill; and reduces the risk factors that lead to the need for long-term care. After decades of pioneering work in the research, policy, and practice of arts and aging, the importance of providing improved arts services for this population is gaining momentum. Leaders in the field will tell us about recent and compelling research; about model programs in general; and specifically, about different ways of engaging older adults in a museum setting. Plus find out about important new resources on program development for creativity and aging.
