Hosted by the National Hispanic Council on Aging, the 2009 Annual Conference,"Working Together For a Common Aging Agenda," will be held October 6 and 7, 2009 at the Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, D.C.

NHCOA is the premier national organization dedicated to understanding the needs and securing the wellbeing of Hispanic older adults and their caregivers , the fastest-growing segment in the U.S. population. Our Annual Conference is renowned for its discussions on timely and critical issues, interactive policy-oriented sessions, workshops and trainings on best practices , and numerous skills-building and partnership-generating opportunities for the many professionals, volunteers, advocates, and family members dedicated to serving the needs of a growing and diverse aging Hispanic population.

Our 2009 Conference in October will focus on a spirit of strength, hope, and renewal as we work together to ensure that aging issues remain a high  priority in these complex times. We will continue to serve as a source of information and empowerment for those working with older adults and their caregivers at all levels, and also to U.S. legislators as they address health, economic security, and housing policy – helping our leaders craft solutions of benefit to all older adults in America, including the most rapidly-growing sector within that population, the Hispanic elderly (projected at over 15 million men and women by 2050).
