This audio conference will review the pros and cons of patient or disease-based referral criteria (aka triggers) as well as the implications for improving primary palliative care services within hospitals.
 
Learning Objectives:

• List common patient or disease based consultation criteria in both ICU and non-ICU settings
• Describe pros and cons to using a patient or disease-based criteria for palliative care consultations
• Learn key steps for integrating consultation criteria into a system-wide effort to improve primary palliative care
