Productive Aging in China:
Toward Evidence-Based Practice and Policy

Tuesday, August 09, 2011 - Thursday, August 11, 2011
Peking University
Beijing, China

Productive engagement of older adults is a strategy to strengthen families and communities while simultaneously promoting the health of older adults. Policies and programs that support productive engagement of older adults can be adapted across countries and cultures. Evidence for effective models can be disseminated more widely.

Scholars, professionals, and government officials interested in societal aging will come together to advance research and knowledge to promote a productive aging society.

The focus of the conference will be on strategies to (1) support older caregivers/grandparents, (2) engage older adults as workers and volunteers, (3) provide life-long education and training, and (4) encourage social entrepreneurship. Outcomes will include advancement of an applied research agenda, innovative development of knowledge and skills among participants, and partnerships to advance research, programs, and policies.

There are no registration fees for the conference. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging arrangements and costs.
