This audio conference will focus on areas of common ground that will help both emergency departments and palliative care teams improve palliative care for patients and their families. A special introduction to the new IPAL-EM Project (Improving Palliative Care in Emergency Medicine) will also take place.

  • Define palliative care and the intersection of palliative care core principles and practice in emergency care
  • Identify trends in palliative care in the emergency department
  • Explore practical best practice models of palliative care in the emergency department on common serious illness trajectories
