The “Fundació Caixa Catalunya" from the Obra Social Caixa Catalunya (Spain) in cooperation with the London School of Economics, the AGE Platform, EASPD and PSICOST is organising the "1st International Conference on Bridging Knowledge in Long Term Care and Support. Crossing Boundaries between Ageing and Disability"; with the support of the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers of the European Commission. The conference will take place in Barcelona (Spain) from 5 to 7 March 2009.

 The main objective of this conference is to put forward methods, systems, examples, and relevance of integrating and transferring knowledge across areas, especially between the ageing and the disability sectors.

 Specific objectives:

1.      To build bridges on care/support in the fields of disability and ageing

2.      To improve the knowledge base in the areas of disabilities and ageing

3.      To produce a recommendation on “Bridging Experiences for Evidence based Policy in Disability and Ageing in Europe” and to submit it to the EC and national authorities

 Target Audience: Key experts, professionals and leaders in the areas of long term care and bridging ageing and disability.
