Healing Gardens: The Power and Practice of Nature in Senior Communities will be held on

Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Medford Leas Continuing Care Retirement Community in Medford, New

Jersey. The seminar is geared to landscape architects, designers, master planning firms, assisted living

facility managers, continuing care retirement community administrators, horticultural therapists and

others in related fields. It is co-sponsored by the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania

and Medford Leas, a Quaker-directed, not-for-profit community for older adults. The focus of the

conference is the important concept that engaging older adults in horticultural activities, therapeutic

value for retirement community residents.
