Role of ESPO Representative to GSA Membership Committee
As this is an activity developed by the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization, the ESPO Representatives to the GSA Membership Committee will work closely with GSA staff to coordinate and publicize the Campus Ambassadors Program.
Criteria for Selection of Campus Ambassadors
Each campus may have up to two Campus Ambassadors who agree to work together with a
Faculty Advisor.
Faculty Advisor.
- The student applicant is a current GSA/ESPO member
- Both the student and faculty member applicants are willing to make a one-year commitment to serve in the Campus Ambassador and Faculty Advisor capacities.
- Vacancy exists in the Campus Ambassdor program on campus
- Student applicant's proposed ideas for campus activities
- When two students are applying jointly to serve as Campus Ambassadors, preference will be given to undergraduate student-graduate student pairs where appropriate
- Resources to support the Campus Ambassador program are available from faculty advisor applicant
- Faculty advisor applicant is an active GSA member (preferred, but not required)
Application and Selection Process
- A cover letter stating interest in the program (including proposed activities) and completed application form should be sent to the GSA office.
- GSA will maintain a master roster of all applicants; determine the eligibility of all applicants; check application and obtain any missing information or materials from applicants.
- When a selection is required, the ESPO Representatives to the GSA Membership Committee and GSA staff will independently review and rank order the applications by the above criteria.
- When two students apply separately to serve as Campus Ambassadors, GSA staff will encourage applicants contact each another to determine interest in serving as co-Ambassadors.
- Final selection will be by consensus of GSA staff and the ESPO Representatives to the GSA Membership Committee.
- GSA staff will notify all applicants.
