Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization
Since 1960, GSA's Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO) has provided students with opportunities to be actively involved in the field of gerontology. Over the years, ESPO leadership has played a vital role in the development of student programs and activities. They have stimulated the development of awards and established mentorship programs to link students with seasoned professionals.
In 1995, ESPO launched the Campus Ambassadors Program to establish professional and social networks for promoting gerontology at colleges and universities nationwide. Campus ambassadors are vital links between different academic disciplines in the field.
ESPO members — more than 1,200 individuals from nearly 100 institutions — enjoy full Society membership benefits and privileges at about half the price of a regular membership.
