Students
Emerging Scholar & Professional Organization
GSA's
Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO) was created in 1960 to provide students with an opportunity to be players in the field of gerontology. Today, student members of the Society enjoy full membership benefits and privileges at about the half the price of a regular membership.
Campus Ambassadors
GSA sponsors a
Campus Ambassador Program, which is a vital networking tool linking students with an interest in gerontology on campuses all over the country and abroad. Campus Ambassadors are encouraged to become actively involved in promoting opportunities in the field of aging on their campuses.
Sigma Phi Omega
Sigma Phi Omega (SPO), the national academic honor and professional society in gerontology, was established in 1980 to recognize the excellence of those who study gerontology/aging and the outstanding service of professionals who work with or on behalf of older persons. GSA's educational unit,
The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education, hosts SPO information on its website.
