Frequently Asked Questions
When can I submit my abstract for presentation at GSA’s 66th Annual Scientific Meeting?
The abstract submission site will open mid-December and close March 15, 2013 at 11:59 PM EDT. Submission of all abstracts is through the online form. GSA does not accept abstracts via mail or e-mail.
What is the submission fee?
The abstract submission fee must be paid via credit card at the time of submission. The fees are:
Symposium: $30*
Paper/Poster: $25
Paper/Poster (Students): $15
*Includes required 2–5 individual symposium abstracts
I am having trouble signing in – why doesn’t my password work?
Please make sure you are using your Abstract Central log-in information, not your GSA member log-in information. After you select the button 'click here to submit your abstract' on geron.org/abstracts site, it will take you to Abstract Central's site. If you think you already have an Abstract Central account but don’t have your login information or have forgotten your password, on Abstract Central's site, click the “Forgot your Password” link on the left hand side of the log-in screen.
Can I be a primary/presenting author on an abstract if I am not a member of GSA?
Yes, you do not need to be a member of GSA to submit an abstract.
What is the difference between the primary author and the co-authors on an abstract?
GSA assumes that the primary author will be the presenter if the abstract is accepted. GSA will send all communications regarding the submitted abstract to the primary author. If the abstract is accepted and the primary author is not able to attend and present, it is acceptable for a co-author to take over presentation duties.
Can I request a presentation date/time? Is it possible for my coworkers and me to have sequential presentations?
Unfortunately we are not able to honor requests for specific presentation dates, times, or groupings.
Am I automatically registered for GSA’s 66th Annual Scientific Meeting by submitting an abstract?
No. You must register for GSA’s meeting separately.
When will I receive confirmation of receipt of my abstract?
You will receive an e-mail confirmation of your submission. To check on your submission status log into the abstract submission site, click the type of abstract you submitted (program overview, professional paper/poster, etc.), then “Go”. On the next screen click “View Submissions” in the left-hand menu. If your abstract has been successfully submitted it will appear under the “Submissions” table. On the next screen click “View Submissions” in the left-hand menu. Your submitted abstracts will appear under the “Submissions” table.
