President’s Welcome Reception and Exhibit Hall Opening

Help kick off GSA’s 2013 Annual Scientific Meeting with a stroll through GSA’s Exhibit Hall and a visit to the first poster session of the meeting. Posters will be on display from 6:00 pm–8:00 pm and presenters will be at their boards from 6:00 pm–7:00 pm. Hors d’oeuvres will be available.

NEW! Come to the Careers in Aging Week (CIAW) meeting to learn more about the program. Careers in Aging Week is an annual event intended to bring greater awareness and visibility to the wide-ranging career opportunities in aging and aging research. Universities and colleges participate by sponsoring events at their schools or in their communities. Join us to learn how other institutions used CIAW to promote the field and support their respective programs, as well as come away with new ideas and resources to help support an event on your campus. Fun Walk & Run

In partnership with the Health Sciences Section to benefit The Doris Schwartz Gerontological Nursing Research Award.
Runners, joggers, and walkers of all skill levels are invited to participate in a fun-filled morning around the French Quarter for the GSA Fun Walk & Run. This event will start and finish from the co-headquarter hotel, New Orleans Marriot, and will follow a 2 mile, 6 mile, or 9 mile route. Everyone is a winner in this race….and no timing will be done. Come out simply for the health benefit and fun. All proceeds from this event will go to The Doris Schwartz Gerontological Nursing Research Award. Registration is required.
