Behavioral and Social Sciences Welcome to the Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSS) Section of the Gerontological Society of America! Our section is composed of behavioral and social scientists from many disciplinary backgrounds, including anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. "The Behavioral and Social Sciences Section of GSA has been the most important professional group in my career. I was nurtured as a student and junior professor; I am nourished by it still. BSS is home!" -- Linda George, Duke University, Member Since 1972 "I have been affiliated with the GSA and BSS for almost 25 years. It is one of my intellectual homes and it has provided me with some of the best colleagues a person can have. The BSS section serves as a true intellectual and research home place where ideas are shared and encouraged." -- Peggye Dilworth-Anderson, University of North Carolina – Greensboro, Member Since 1974 "My membership in GSA’s BSS section has provided a wealth of intellectual contacts that are central to scholarly growth. Having been a member since graduate school, I have benefited immensely. " -- Joe Hendricks, Oregon State University, Member Since 1970
