As the only joint AGHE/GSA committee, the mission of this committee
is to translate gerontological research into practice and education.
This committee serves to advise the Council on all matters pertaining
to research, education, and practice in gerontology. It shall have
concern for all three aspects of gerontology, including their continued
encouragement, development, and promotion. It shall have particular
responsibility for liaison with agencies giving financial support
for research, education, and practice in gerontology and for seeking
new ways in which the Society can promote these activities. The
committee shall review and make recommendations to Council concerning
the disposition for all projects proposed by members, staff members,
Sections, or Units of the Society.
