Fellowship is a recognition by peers in GSA for outstanding contributions to the field of gerontology and represents the highest class of membership. This recognition comes at varying points of a person's career and for diverse activities that include research, teaching, administration, public services, practice and notable participation in the Society. 

Requirements for Fellowship Status are as follows:

• Must be nominated by a current GSA Fellow of your Section, self nominations are no longer accepted;
• Regular membership in The Society for a minimum of 5 years;
• Specified requirements made by each Section (please see application for complete listing of requirements);
• Endorsement from ONE other Fellow of the sponsoring Section besides the nominating Fellow, wo is a current member of the Society;
• An ORIGINAL application;
• An ORIGINAL C.V.

Send application materials to fellowship@geron.org no later than January 15, 2008 (this includes the endorsement letter). When emailing materials, they MUST be sent as attachments.

The deadline to send in nominations for Fellowship within GSA is January 15, 2008. The applications then go through several stages of reviews. Results will be provided by mail before the Annual Meeting in November and all new Fellows will be recognized at the GSA Community (Business) Meeting.
