The Global Scale of Social Isolation and Loneliness: What You Need to Know
Friday, October 27, 2023
11:00 am to noon ET
Increased social isolation and loneliness have become widespread epidemics, bringing these global public health issues to the forefront. Social isolation and loneliness significantly increase the risk of premature death from all causes, rivaling those of smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity. There is a need to strengthen, broaden, and prioritize the development of new interventions, moving toward greater societal cohesion and connectedness across the life course.
During this webinar, panelists will discuss the global prevalence of social isolation and loneliness as well as the policy interventions and programs that policymakers in countries around the world are implementing to address the causes and consequences of these societal issues.
