The Friends of the National Institute of Aging (FoNIA) coalition, of which GSA is a founding member, has designed a social media campaign to highlight the research that NIA funds and enhances the lives of all Americans.

FoNIA is encouraging all aging researchers to take a picture of themselves and/or something emblematic of their research and post to social media using #NIAFundsMe. FoNIA can then funnel these posts to appropriate Congressional social media feeds to expand awareness of your research and the key role NIA plays in advancing science.

Consider sharing your incredible work so that members of Congress and their staff may gain a better appreciation of the types of research funded and how it impacts their constituencies.

FoNIA has prepared a toolkit with guidance on posting your message. Please forward to your colleagues as well!

As always, GSA will continue reinforcing the need for a strong research ecosystem. GSA works independently, and with coalition partners, to advocate for support of aging issues with the new presidential administration and with lawmakers on Capitol Hill. Trish D’Antonio, GSA’s vice president for policy and professional affairs, is currently serving in her second year as vice chair of FoNIA.
