GSA Holding August 10 Member Town Hall on Protecting the Research Ecosystem

Thank you to all GSA members who responded to the recent request for input on a proposed rule from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), which would result in greater political oversight of how federal grants are administered. The OMB received nearly 500,000 comments in response, with about 95% of them in opposition to the proposal.  

In the past week, the Senate Appropriations Committee advanced a continuing resolution that includes a provision to delay implementation of the proposed rule. But it’s just the first step that Congress could take to stop it. It’s because of these rapidly changing policy moves and counter moves that we will host a town hall for members to ask questions and interact directly with GSA leadership.
